A Beautiful Sunset Maternity Session with Thea, Andrea, Senan & Their Two Golden Retrievers


There’s something so incredibly special about capturing a family as they prepare to welcome a new little person into their lives , and Thea, Andrea and Senan’s sunset maternity session was exactly that.

With the warm South West sun glowing across the landscape, we spent the evening celebrating this beautiful season of their lives, surrounded by plenty of love, laughter and, of course, their two very special four-legged family members, Franco and Russell.


A Growing Family & A Very Special Chapter

Maternity sessions aren't just about documenting a growing bump. They’re about capturing the people, connections and little pieces of everyday life that make this chapter so meaningful.

For Thea and Andrea, this session was a chance to pause and celebrate their growing family before welcoming their newest little addition.

Senan was an absolute sweetheart throughout the evening, and having him involved made the session feel even more personal. From cuddles and playful moments to those quiet family portraits, we captured the beautiful connection between the three of them — and the excitement of becoming a family of four.

And then there were Franco and Russell.


Franco & Russell Steal the Show

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from photographing families with their dogs, it’s that they are absolutely part of the family , and they deserve their place in the photographs too! Franco and Russell brought so much personality to the session. Golden Retrievers have a wonderful way of adding an extra layer of warmth and fun to family photographs, and these two were no exception. There were plenty of cuddles, playful moments and a little bit of chaos — the kind of beautiful, imperfect moments that make family photographs feel real. Years from now, I hope these images will bring Thea, Andrea and Senan straight back to this evening: the feeling of the warm sun, the anticipation of meeting their new baby, and two very loved Golden Retrievers running around beside them.


Golden Hour in the South West

There is something magical about photographing maternity sessions at sunset in the South West of Western Australia.

As the sun begins to dip, the light becomes soft and golden, creating the most beautiful, dreamy glow. It gives us plenty of opportunities for a mixture of natural family photographs, intimate maternity portraits and playful candid moments.

Rather than spending the entire session posing, I love allowing families to simply interact with one another. Walk together, cuddle your little ones, play with the dogs, soak up the sunset — and I’ll be there to capture everything as it naturally unfolds. This is particularly special for maternity sessions because it allows the photographs to tell the story of your family exactly as it is right now.

Before Baby Arrives

There is such a short window of time between pregnancy and welcoming a new baby into the family.

One day you're taking photographs with a beautiful growing bump, your little one running beside you and your beloved dogs at your feet ,and before you know it, you're holding your newest little person in your arms.

That’s why I love maternity photography so much.


It gives you the opportunity to document not only your pregnancy, but your family as it exists before everything changes.

Thea, Andrea, Senan, Franco and Russell ,thank you for allowing me to capture this beautiful chapter for you. I hope these photographs always remind you of just how loved your growing family already was, even before your newest little arrival made their appearance.
