What is a cake smash photo session?

A cake smash photo session is a fun and memorable way to celebrate your baby's first birthday. During the session, your baby will have a cake all to themselves and will be encouraged to "smash" and play with the cake while being photographed.


Choosing a photographer

When choosing a photographer for your baby's cake smash photo session, it's important to find someone who has experience working with babies and is comfortable handling messy situations. Look for a photographer who specializes in newborn and baby photography and has a portfolio that showcases their previous work.


Preparing for the session

Before the session, it's important to communicate with your photographer about any specific ideas or colour themes you have in mind. You should also bring a change of clothes for your baby and a clean-up kit in case of any accidents. Please note that your session includes basic decorations and props. Anything additional required for your session needs to be discussed with our team. Additional decorations can be purchased upon request


During the session

During the session, your photographer will set up a backdrop and props to create a fun and festive atmosphere. They will then introduce the cake to your baby and encourage them to play and explore. The photographer will take a variety of photos from different angles, capturing all the messy and joyful moments.

After the cake has been smashed we will have a fun splash session in. a milk bath with your baby


After the session

After the session, your photographer will edit and retouch the photos and provide you with a selection of images to choose from. You can then choose your favorite photos to be printed or made into a photo album to cherish and share with family and friends.
